Happy Birthday Harlowe

This post is about a month late but better late than never. We went to San Diego for Harlowe's birthday in October. Dustin and I haven't been on vacation since we had the kiddos, which is three years, yikes. Nevertheless, it was time to get away but the night before we were supposed to leave I was panicking. Harlowe is no problem traveling with but Tryst on the other hand, he has a strong personality to put it politely.

We did end up going and the flight was about three hours long, going there was a challenge because Tryst is a handful and trying to preoccupy him for three hours was hard. We did pack the Benadryl just in case things got out of hand, I know, bad parents but you don't know Tryst. Anyways, we arrived in one piece and all the passengers on the plane did not hate us, ha. But on the way back we broke out the Benadryl and it really turned out to be a stress free plane ride on the way back. I kinda felt guilty about medicating my child for sanity sake but I really needed it, ha.

We had a great trip and everyone had a good time. I love San Diego, the weather is perfect and the city is so hip and cool. I really had a great time and would love to go back to California.

We went to a fancy restaurant that Dustin found on the Internet with great reviews and it was fabulous. The foodie in me was excited to see ingredients on the menu that I have seen on Food Network or the Cooking Channel. It was really good but my only complaint was, the fish was overcooked, but they took it back no problem and gave us these piping hot, doughy, crispy donuts with chocolate dipping sauce, to die for.

I know most families take their three year old to Chuck e Cheese or a fun kiddy place for dinner, right? But not the Different's, it was kinda a long dinner and some crying took place with Tryst and Harlowe had to lie down for a bit, although it was totally worth it, for the adults at least, ha.

She was excited to get her own personal dessert with a candle. We sang to her and she was all smiles.

I hope you had a good birthday and many more to come! Dustin and I love you so much and you are such a joy to be around. You say the funniest things and always put a smile on our faces. You are caring, smart, beautiful and you are a kind soul. You love your brother to pieces and you are his protector and greatest friend. You are the light of our lives and we are lucky to have you as our daughter. We love you so much!

She loves to take pictures lately and is such a character.

Waiting for a table for breakfast before hitting up the San Diego Zoo

This cool building was across the street, so this is just a random pic. San Diego has so much vegetation and the trees are so cool.

We made my mother come along on the vacation for some much needed help. I think she had a good time hanging out with the fam. Vacationing with kiddos was hard and I kinda needed a vacation after the vacation, ha. At times it was exhausting but well worth it, great memories.

My mom was nice enough to get Harlowe some gifts so she had something to open on her Bday. The bad mother I am forgot her gift at home, so sad but my brain is slowly going.

She got a Hello Kitty purse and some Hello Kitty lip balm.

Hello Kitty stamps, which she loves to stamp your hand.

Clothes of course

A Hello Kitty watch

We went to this great breakfast restaurant. The portions were huge, family style huge, like on platters they were so big. But the food was so good and it lasted us until dinner time. We even went back twice for breakfast. My mom and I shared this fried chicken, egg benedict type meal. Harlowe and Tryst had a pancake and I cannot remember what Dustin had but he ate it all.

I don't know why my mom was trying to hide from the pic. This day, Dustin went to check out this new company he is about to work for called, Ecoport. The kiddos and my mother went to the Aquarium. It was so cool, located on a hill overlooking the ocean. The views there are amazing and I love the beach.

My baby was actually pretty darn good on the trip, I was kinda impressed. We were on the go pretty much the whole time and he hung in there, most of the time without a nap. My little fireball

I love this little girl to death, she makes me smile everyday.
